Co-Chairs' Welcome

“Welcome to DIAL!!! As our mission statement reflects, we are a committee interested in expanding and insuring diversity in our professional lives. Personally, I am very interested in building a professional committee where academic librarians can embrace issues about diversity and minorities and create new paths in the context of Academic Libraries.
 
I am very proud of being part of DIAL-SOUTH, a unique committee focused on discussion and learning and expanding issues regarding diversity and multiculturalism in academic libraries, and extending that diversity into each of the different populations representative of Southern California.”

It is an honor and privilege to be a part of DIAL-South and continue the work of our Mission Statement, “To ensure that the association's organization, strategic plans, standards, programs, and activities reflect the interests or equity for all underserved populations in academic libraries.” This is possible thanks to the predecessors, our current supporters and the future like minded individuals.
